Safety Information

Nothing is more important to us than your health. That's why your safety is our number one priority. And, that's why the Natrelle™ Collection uses unique silicone gel-filled and saline-filled breast implant designs.

Based on proven technology

Silicone gel-filled breast implants are among the most studied medical devices. There have been thousands of peer-reviewed and published reports on breast implants, including robust epidemiological studies supporting their use.

Saline-filled breast implants

Data from nearly 1.5 million Natrelle™ saline-filled breast implants has found that 97.5% remained intact after 10 years².

Silicone gel-filled breast implant safety

Each silicone gel-filled breast implant in the Natrelle™ Collection has a number of key attributes:

  1. Low long-term rupture rates
  2. Rigorous Testing
  3. Ongoing research as part of Breast Implant Follow-up Studies (BIFS)

Low long-term rupture rates

Your well-being is just as important to us in the future as it is now. To help assess the long-term safety of our breast implants, we have conducted extensive clinical studies both in the U.S. and in Europe. These studies show that Allergan's Natrelle™ silicone-filled implants have low long-term rupture rates. In fact, the results of the European research found that after 11 years, 92% of all implants were still intact.¹

Rigorous Testing

Breast implants from the Natrelle™ Collection undergo thorough testing to meet Allergan's high quality standards. Pre-clinical testing of Natrelle™ silicone-filled breast implants show that they are designed to withstand more than 25 times the force of a normal mammogram without failure.

Ongoing research

Our dedication to research doesn't stop once we make our implants. Through ongoing research, like Breast Implant Follow-up Studies (BIFS), we're also constantly trying to assess our devices' impressive long-term safety record. BIFS data will add to our long history of safety around the world, which spans nearly a decade in the U.S. alone.
